Are you looking for ways to get involved in extracurricular activities? Northeast Mississippi Community College (NMCC) offers a variety of clubs, organizations, and other activities to help students make the most of their college experience. At NMCC, you can find 26 organizations, including student government association, health and nutrition centers, and child care centers. The college also provides parallel university courses for those who plan to transfer to a four-year university. To graduate, students must complete core requirements and other courses for a total of 62 semester hours.

Upon successful completion of this sequence of courses, the Associate of Arts degree is awarded. The areas of focus within this division are called programs of study and are used as a guide in course selection. The advisor will follow the study plans in the university catalog to ensure the transfer of credits obtained. The goal of the NMCC Campus Police Department is to create a safe environment that is supportive of the educational experience for students, staff, faculty, and visitors. NMCC is located in the northeastern part of Mississippi, approximately 190 miles north of Jackson and 100 miles southeast of Memphis, Tennessee. In 2000, the college began offering classes online through the Mississippi Virtual Community College (MSVCC).

Most programs are funded by the Mississippi State Department of Education, the Office of Professional and Technical Education, and the Mississippi Community College Board. In 1965, NMCC established a Department of Professional and Technical Education to provide educational opportunities to individuals who might be eligible for employment in various professional and technical areas. The Board of Trustees granted the college permission to award Associate in Arts degrees in 1948 and Associate of Science in Nursing degrees in 1957. On August 1, 1987, Northeast Mississippi Junior College was officially renamed Northeast Mississippi Community College. NMCC offers evening classes on its main campus in Booneville as well as off-campus classes in Corinth and New Albany. With so many options available, there's something for everyone at NMCC!.
