Unlock Educational Opportunities in Northeastern Mississippi

Mississippi is home to fifteen community colleges, all of which are affiliated with the Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference (MACCC). Through the Mississippi Virtual Community College (MSVCC), students can take courses at any community college in the state and receive support services from a local university. The Mississippi Community College Board (MCCB) is responsible for overseeing the public community and secondary universities in the state. The Department of Community Transition Services provides training in various areas, such as academic functioning, daily life, work skills, community awareness, and self-confidence.

The Stovall Adult Education Program offers intensive instruction in functional academic subjects, basic mathematics, and communication skills. The Professional and Technical Education division helps community college staff develop and review staff qualifications and credentials related to professional and technical instruction. The Mississippi Articulation and Transfer Tool (MATT) allows students to compare current community college courses with equivalent courses at Mississippi universities and find out how those courses meet the degree requirements for a specific specialty. Skill UP Mississippi is an initiative of the Office of Adult Education of the Mississippi Community College Board.

Individuals enrolled in the Hopkins Adult Education Program master the skills that lead to greater independence in many different environments, such as the home or workplace and in the community. Teaching in all educational programs takes place in small groups and, when necessary, with individual classes led by teachers, active treatment technicians, and other specially trained educators. There are currently 97 programs of study available to students enrolled in Mississippi community colleges. The mission of the Mississippi Virtual Community College is to provide educational opportunities to constituencies that live in the various university and community districts of Mississippi and beyond.
