Exploring the Recreational Opportunities of Northeastern Mississippi

Northeastern Mississippi is a great destination for outdoor recreation and adventure. For those looking for a more secluded experience, Marathon Lake in the Bienville National Forest is a 50-acre lake located in the northeast corner of the county. The 18-hole “Laurel” course at the Laurel Country Club facility in Laurel has 6,699 yards of golf from the longest tees, with a par of 72. Northeastern Mississippi is an ideal destination for those looking to explore and experience outdoor recreation. From canoeing and kayaking to golfing and fishing, there are plenty of activities to enjoy. The Mississippi National Forests provide motorboating opportunities through its six national forests. For those seeking a more secluded experience, Marathon Lake and Tishomingo State Park are great options.
