On Nov. 11 the Carolina RCDC honored their local veterans with a Veterans Day celebration supper. There were nine veterans present.
Dewey Bethay blessed the evening meal. Guy Pettit gave the welcome and David Hill had the opening prayer. Johnny Brown led the group in the Pledge to the Flag. Sherrie Hill led everyone in several patriotic songs. The devotional was brought byCurtis Hall.
Guest speaker for the evening was Sergeant Major Joe Hester-Retired. The oldest veteran present was Dewey Bethay at 90 years of age.
Each veteran told what branch of service he served in, the places he was stationed and a brief history of his time in the military.
Certificates of appreciation were given to each veteran. Ray Conwill led the closing prayer.
Remember to thank a Veteran. Not only on Veterans Day but each day of the year. They are the ones who keep our country free.
