Those interested in purchasing tickets early for the Itawamba Agricultural High School Indian Players’ production of “Annie” and learning a bit of Fulton history will get their chance to do both this Sunday.

Fulton residents are invited to attend a special open house event at the old Fulton Grammar School this Sunday, Feb. 21, from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. The event will highlight the massive efforts of Itawamba County residents to renovate the former school and retain it as an important part of the community, including the numerous changes and updates made to the building over the last decade.

During the open house, guests will be able to explore the building, including new classroom areas and a completely renovated auditorium area, with new curtains, fresh paint and a completely reconstruction backstage area.

The front of the school will also undergo massive landscaping before the event.

The open house also serves as the official kick-off event for “Annie” as cast members will be on hand — in full costume — to speak with attendees and sell early tickets at a discounted price. There will also be a special performance by the production’s young star, IAC fifth-grader Anna Robinson.
