The Tremont Eagles hosted North Pontotoc Vikings last Thursday night. The Lady Eagles fell 66-52, and the Vikings beat the Eagles 68-18.

The girls took the court first, and Tessa Beam scored the Lady Eagles' first basket of the game. When the first quarter came to a close, the Lady Eagles trailed 21-12.

Kammie Lease, Kayla Palmer and Beam handled the scoring for the Lady Eagles in the second quarter, but at halftime the Lady Vikings led 40-19.

Lease scored eight consecutive points in the third quarter while the Lady Vikings didn't make a basket to cut the lead down to 48-27 and D.J. Chumbley hit a big three pointer before the end of the quarter. At the end of three, the Lady Eagles trailed 54-30.

Beam and Lease went into high gear in the fourth quarter and cut the Lady Vikings' lead down to 10 with 1:25 left to play.

Despite their good efforts, the Lady Vikings were able to hold off the late Lady Eagle attack and walk away with a 66-52 victory. Lease led the Lady Eagles with 26 points, followed by Beam with 12 points. Lakyn Nelson led the Lady Vikings with 32 points.

The boys' team took the court for the nightcap, and the Eagles were held scoreless until four minutes into the game when Jake Norris hit a layup followed by a Bubba Morris free throw.

The Eagles trailed 23-3 after the first quarter. Norris scored every point for the Eagles in the second quarter and at halftime, the Eagles trailed 43-9.

The Eagles didn't score in the third quarter but doubled their score in the fourth.

When the final horn sounded the Vikings walked away with a 68-18 win over the Eagles. Norris led the Eagles with 10 points.
