The Tremont Lady Eagles hosted the Belmont Lady Cardinals last week for their final game of the season.
With the seniors being recognized after the game, the Lady Eagles wanted to pick up a win to celebrate the seniors' final slow-pitch game.
Lauren Mayhall hit a two-out double to center in the first inning, and Kayla Palmer brought her in to score on a single up the middle.
Trailing 1-0, the Lady Cardinals hit a two-run home run to left to take the lead in the top of the third.
Then the Lady Eagles answered in the bottom of the inning with two runs of their own.
Kammi Lease hit a triple to right, followed by a Mayhall single to center that tied the game at 2.
With the bases loaded, Kaitlyn Booth hit a sacrifice fly to left, scoring Mayhall from third to give the Lady Eagles a 3-2 lead.
The Lady Eagles added to their lead in the bottom of the fourth when D.J. Chumbley hit a sacrifice fly to left.
In the bottom of the fifth, Booth drove Mayhall in on a fielder's choice.
Leading 5-2, the Lady Eagles were three outs away from capturing the win, but the Lady Cardinals loaded the bases in the top of the seventh.
The Lady Cardinals left the bases loaded as they flied out to center, giving the Lady Eagles the 5-2 win.
