PICAYUNE - Bessie Moore Bates, 101, died Saturday, Nov. 21, 2009, in Picayune. She was born in Itawamba County on July 27, 1908, to Chester and Cora Lee Brown Moore. She and her husband reared their family in Columbus, where she taught Sunday school at the First Baptist Church for 50 years. In 1997 she moved to Picayune to be near her family. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to many.
Services were held at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 27, at the First Baptist Church of Picayune. Additional services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 28, at the Columbus First Baptist Church. Burial was at the Friendship Cemetery in Columbus. McDonald Funeral Home of Picayune was in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include a daughter, Mary Frances Reese-Sofio of Carriere; a son, Paul Franklin Bates Jr. of Oakland, Maine; a son-in-law, Ernie Colquette of Oldsmar, Fla.; a brother, Charles Moore of Fulton; her grandchildren, Robert Reese and Paul Reese, both of Picayune, Jennye Case of Brandon, Thomas Reese of Daphne, Ala., Kelly Hanley of Wilmington, N.C., Philip Colquette of Denver, Colo., Stephen Colquette of Mission Viejo, Calif.; 14 great-grandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter; and a special niece, Patricia Moore Vaughan of Starkville.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Franklin Bates Sr.; her parents, Chester and Cora Lee Brown Moore; a daughter, Nancy Lee Colquette; and four brothers and three sisters.
The Family wishes to express special thanks to Covenant Rehabilitation and Health Center and Magnolia Personal Care for their loving care over the last four years.
Memorials may be given to the First Baptist Church of Picayune, First Baptist Church of Columbus or the charity of choice.

AMORY - Carolyn Monaghan Duke, 70, died Thursday, Nov. 26, 2009, at the Gilmore Memorial Regional Medical Center in Amory after an extended illness.
Graveside services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 28, at the New Chapel Cemetery with Bro. Scott Johnson officiating. E.E. Pickle Funeral Home of Amory was in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include one son, Ronnie Duke of Amory; three stepsons, Roland, Max A., and Gary Duke; one daughter, Tammy Duke Hathcock of Greenwood Spring; two stepdaughters, Linda Kincaid and Debbie Jean Hill; four brothers, B.H. Monaghan of Amory, twin Carol "Bubba" Monaghan of Fulton, Lincoln Monaghan of Oxford and Bill Monaghan of Amory; three sisters, Mattie Wigginton of New Albany, Ruby Griggs of Amory and Maddie Johnson of Amory; and several great-grandchildren.
Anna Lois Crane
DOUGLAS, Ga. - Anna Lois Trulove Crane, 94, died Friday, Nov. 20, 2009, at the Coffee Regional Medical Center following a short illness. A native of Itawamba County, she had lived in the Douglas area for several years. She was the daughter of the late H.V. and Kate Webb Trulove and the wife of the late Leslie Darrell Crane. She was a member of the Church of Christ.
Graveside services were held at 3 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 21, at the Douglas City Cemetery. Ricketson Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include two daughters, Peggy C. McAllister (Bobby) of Elberton, Ga., and Hildred C. Raper (Charles) of Douglas; two grandchildren, Richard Jay Minix (Kathy) of Jekyll Island, Ga., and Katie M. Thompson (Phillip) of Elberton Ga.; one great-granddaughter, Rachel Kate Thompson of Elberton, Ga.; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Cutah Parks, and a granddaughter, Leslie Shea Minix.
Margaret Killingsworth
FULTON - Margaret Ann Killingsworth, 73, died Thursday, Nov. 26, 2009, at the North Mississippi Medical Center.
Services were held at 1 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 29, at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Fulton with Bro. Eugene Stockstill and Bro. Howard Killingsworth officiating. Burial was in the Mt. Olive Cemetery.
Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Bobby Killingsworth of Fulton; one son, Michael Killingsworth (Pat) of Fulton; one daughter, Sandy Evans (Jeff) of Tremont; three grandchildren, Kacey McLeod (Stephen) of Waynesboro, and Justin Evans and Jacob Evans, both of Tremont; three great-granddaughters, Mallory, Reagan and Maddie McLeod of Wayneboro; two brothers, Myrl Barnett (Myra) of Arley, Ala., and Corky Barnett (Pauline) of Tremont; four sisters, Shirley Manasco (James) and Pat Pounders (Gayre), both of Tremont, Pam Owen (Bill) of Tupelo and Donna Pitts (Halbert) of Tremont; two sisters-in-law, Earlene Lonergan (George) of Zion, Ill., and Waunell Killingsworth of Tremont; and a host of nieces and nephews.

GOLDEN - Glenda Clark "Tootsie" Gann, 55, died Thursday, Nov. 26, 2009, at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo.
Services were held at 1 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 29, at New Life Ministry Church in Belgreen, Ala. Burial was in Belgreen Baptist Church Cemetery. Deaton Funeral Home of Red Bay, Ala., was in charge of the arrangements.
Lura Wingo
GOLDEN - Lura Irene Wingo, 87, died Saturday, Nov. 28, 2009, at her residence.
Services were held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 1, at Deaton Funeral Home in Belmont with Bro. L.D. Blevins officiating. Burial was in Ridge Cemetery.
She is survived by her two daughters, Regina Inmon (Junior) of Golden and Colene Moats (Winston) of Cherokee, Ala.; two sons, James Wade Wingo (Christine) of Port Edwards, Wis., and Robert Terry Wingo of Zion, Ill.; three sisters, Dorothy Cross of Tremont, Louise Jackson of Fulton and Betty Hammond of Marietta; one brother, Dean Moore of Ryans Well; a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
