The Indians received the opening kickoff and chose to run the "wildcat" offense with Ty Ferrell taking the snaps.
Ferrell picked up a first down on a 13 yard run, but when the drive stalled, Bret Jeftcoat came in to try and convert on third and 4. However, Jefcoat's pass was picked off by the Lions, who then put together a 10 play drive that ended on a 5-yard touchdown run.
Both teams went three and out on their next drives, but the Indians special teams blocked the Lions punt and fell on the ball at the 3 yard line.
Ferrell took the ball into the endzone on the first play of the ensuing drive. The Indians point after was no good, and the Indians trailed 7-6.
The Indian defense stood strong, forcing a fumble and recovering to give the offense the ball on the 42 yard line.
The offense couldn't move the ball and was forced to punt; however, the punt never got away as the Lions blocked it and recovered on the Indian 30 yard line.
It took the Lions four plays to find the endzone on a 23-yard touchdown pass.
Leading 14-6 at the end of the first quarter, the Lions quickly added to their lead in the second quarter when they put together a 9 play drive that ended on a 44-yard touchdown run.
The Indians trailed 21-6 and it appeared that they would make it to halftime without falling into a deeper hole. Then right before halftime, the Lions found the endzone on a 33-yard touchdown pass.
Neither team could produce any points in the second half, and the Indians fell 28-6.
"That touchdown right before half was big for them, because I thought we would still go in at halftime within striking distance," said ICC head coach Jeff Terrill, who played Saturday's game against the tenth ranked East Miss. Lions without eight starters. "We finished strong last year with a convincing win against Coahoma. We could sure use that kind of game Thursday night. It won't be easy against Coahoma because they continue to get better every year. If they beat us, they are in the playoffs for the first time ever."
The Indians' final game of the season will be on the road this Thursday night at Coahoma. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
