MEMPHIS – Lloyd Travis Allen, 61, died Thursday, Sept. 10, 2009, at St. Francis Hospital in Memphis.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 13, at Wheeler Grove Baptist Church with Bro. Ray Bennett and Bro. Shane Evetts officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Magnolia Funeral Home of Corinth was in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include his wife of nine years, Debbie Walton Allen of Memphis; sons, Travis Allen and Leeann of Verona, Tracey Allen and wife, Kerri, of Nettleton, and Mitch Wilson and wife, Melissa, of Fulton; daughter, Vanessa Murphy of Fulton; stepson, David Dean of Arkansas; stepdaughters, Davida Derryberry of Arkansas, and Jessica Hamilton and husband, Freddie, of Fulton; grandchildren, Laken Mask, Caitlin Mackenzie Allen, Austin Trey Allen, Alaina Wilemon, Alex Wilson and Alstin Wilson; brothers, Kenneth Allen of Corinth and Harry Allen and wife, Ellen, of Booneville; sisters, Lucy Scruggs, Connie Newman, Joann Williams and husband, Robert, Rita Birmingham and husband, Eulice, all of Corinth, and Tammie Dolan and husband, Thurman, of Alabama; numerous nieces and nephews.
Anthony Guess
MANTACHIE – Anthony Wade Guess, 53, died Wednesday, Sept. 16 , 2009, at the North Mississippi Medical Center after a short illness. He was a lifelong resident of Mantachie. He had worked in the garment factory industry. He enjoyed gardening, flowers, yard work and singing gospel music.
Services were held at 3 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 17, at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Mantachie with Shay Guess officiating.Burial was in the Walton Cemetery.
Survivors include his father, Wayne Guess of Mantachie; one daughter, Christi Pounds ( Ryan) of New Site; one brother, Steve Guess of Mantachie; one grandchild, Anna Pounds of New Site.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Sue Guess, on Oct. 19, 2005.
Pallbearers were Jerry Holiday, Robert Gatlin, Billy Wheeler, Terry Wheeler, Jerry Bogan and Randy Grubbs.
Wayne Gray
FLORENCE – Richard Wayne Gray, 71, died Tuesday, Sept. 15, 2009, at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland. He was born May 28, 1938, in Fulton to Harvey Wayne Gray and Cutah Richardson Gray. He was a construction superintendent and a veteran of the Mississippi National Guard. He was a member of McLauren Heights Baptist Church in Pearl. An avid Mississippi State University athletic fan and New Orleans Saints fan, he enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Services were at 3 p.m. Friday, Sept. 18, at Senter Funeral Home Chapel in Fulton with Mike Deaton and Dr. Richard Price officiating. Burial was in Dorsey Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Marolyn Bean Gray of Florence; two daughters, Carol Ann (Joe) Boggan of Benton and Christi (Dr. Richard) Price of Madison; three sons, Richard Wayne “Buddy” Gray Jr. (Emily) of Hernando, Scott Gray (fiancée, Ashley) of Florence and Britt (Leah) Gray of Ridgeland; three brothers, Wade (Myrna) Gray of Fairview, Robert (Glenda) Gray of Fulton and Archie (Sun-Ae) Gray of Melbourne, Fla.; one sister, Myra Jones of Clermont, Fla.; 10 grandchildren, Lauren Boggan, Ben Boggan, Spencer Gray, Mary Elizabeth Gray, Zack Gray, Victoria Gray, Nicholas Price, Joseph Price, Olivia Price and Carlie Gray; his father, Harvey Gray (Carice) of Belmont.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Cutah Gray, and a granddaughter, Lydia Boggan.

Velma Lott
GUNTOWN – Velma Rush Lott, 86, died Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2009, at Cedars Heathcare Center after an extended illness.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 18, at The Saltillo Chapel of W.E. Pegues with Rev. Bobby Robbins and Rev. Phillip McCoy officiating. Burial was in Campbelltown Cemetery.
Survivors include two daughters, Elizabeth Tutor and Linda McCoy, both of Guntown; six grandchildren, Jerry Tutor of Pontotoc, Deloris Stewart (David) of Pontotoc, Greg Tutor (Polly) of Peppertown, Larry McCoy (Tabatha) of Guntown, Jeff McCoy (Sissy) of Mantachie and Darla Roberts (Billy) of Guntown; her sister, Thelma Bishop of Guntown; three sisters-in-law, Faye Brassfield, Clare Nell Gregory and Marie Lott; one brother-in-law, Marvin Lott; 16 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Maxine Malone of Guntown.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 67 years, Virgil Lott; one son-in-law, Larry McCoy; and one brother and four sisters.
Pallbearers was her great-grandsons, Kyle Tutor, Bruce Tutor, Duston Tutor, Charles Stewart, Zack McCoy, Mark McCoy and Logan Jones.
Faye Roberts
FULTON – Faye Johnson Roberts, 88, died Thursday, Sept. 17, 2009, at the North Mississippi Medical Center. She was born July 4, 1921, in Itawamba County to William Allen and Sarah Emily Hughes Johnson. She was a homemaker and a member of Pine Grove Church of Christ. She enjoyed gardening and flowers and loved her family unconditionally.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 20, at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Fulton with Bro. Bobby Fowler and James Atkinson officiating. Burial was in the Pine Grove Cemetery.
Survivors include her children, John Allen (Susie) Roberts of Waukegan, Ill., Nan (Ronald) Houston of Fulton, and David Wayne (Brenda) Roberts, James William (Melinda) Roberts and Mary Roberts, all of Tremont; her twin sister, Raye Gholston of Fulton; four sisters-in-law, Jean House, Mildred Johnson, Ruby Johnson and Louise Sweatman; seven grandchildren, Ferrane (Waylon) Wilson, Paula (Wes) Smith, Stephanie (Anthony) Cooley, Phillip Oatsvall Jr., Jeffrey Oatsvall, Peanut Oatsvall and Jennifer Oatsvall; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jeff Roberts, in 1969; three grandsons, Michael Roberts, Chris Roberts and Matthew Underwood; her parents; two sisters; and seven brothers.
Pallbearers were her grandsons and grandsons-in-law.
James O. Spraggins
MANTACHIE – James O. Spraggins, 75, died Saturday, Sept. 19, 2009, at his residence after a long illness.
Services were held Monday, Sept. 21, at 11 a.m. at Kesler Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Toby Mears officiating. Burial was in Maple Grove Cemetery in New Haven, Ohio. Kesler Funeral Home of Baldwyn was in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include his wife of 31 years, Wayvone Spraggins of Mantachie; two sons, Russell King of Mantachie and Richard King of Louisiana; one daughter Roberta Segvich (Michael) of Indiana; two sons, James Spraggins Jr. and Thomas Spraggins, both of Ohio; one daughter; Kathleen Spraggins of Ohio; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one brother, Gene Spraggins (Carol) of Ohio; two sisters, Susie South of Tishomingo and Sadie Flemming (Bobby) of Marietta; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Mary Lou Cromeans
FULTON – Mary Lou Cromeans, 79, died Friday, Sept. 18, 2009, at the Thomas Hospital in Fairhope, Ala. She was a housewife and a chicken grower. She was a member of the Trinity Baptist Church.
Services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 21, at McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Fulton with Bro. Jackie Gray officiating. Burial was in the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery.
Survivors include two daughters, Cindi Pierotti of Daphne, Ala., and Deborah Ramos of Yuma, Ariz.; one sister, May Ola Tate of Peppertown; three grandchildren, Maranda Parker and Megan Pierotti, both of Daphne, and Gabriel Williams of Dallas; three great-grandchildren, Kaili, Joseph and Christopher, all of Daphne; two nieces, Brenda Hare of Peppertown and Freda McCabe of Corpus Christi, Texas; and one nephew, Rickey Tate of Peppertown.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Agrah Dale “Red” Cromeans; her parents, Ivy Lee and Bessie May Stovall; her stepmother, Hattie Bell Stovall; and a brother, Dolan Stovall.
