FULTON – Clarence Mitchell “Mitch” Moore, 53, died Sunday, April 26, 2009, in Bono, Ark. He was born Aug. 17, 1955, in Tupelo to Clarence Gaston and Willa Jean Gillentine Moore. He was a member of Big Oak Baptist Church. He was employed by Sanderson Construction in Amory as project manager. He was a member of Associated Builders and Contractors, where he served on various committees during the past years. He served on the University of Southern Mississippi Construction Engineering Advisory Council from 1999 until the present. An avid hunter and fisherman, he enjoyed collecting knives and guns.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 29, at Senter Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Douglas Wilson and Bro. Jackie Gray officiating. Burial was in Keyes Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Laurie Pearson Moore of Fulton; one son, Clarence Dustin “Dusty” Moore of Fulton; his mother, Willa Jean “Tootsie” Moore of Fulton; one sister, Brenda Franklin (Jerry) of Oxford; two brothers, Dr. Dan Moore (Marilyn) of Amory and Steve Moore (Selina) of Fulton; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Leavelle and Charlene Pearson of Union.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Morgan Cheyenne Moore, in 1995; a son, Jessie Dakota Moore, in 1997; and his father, Clarence Gaston Moore, in 1977.
Pallbearers were Scott and Stacy Franklin, Tony Carroll, Ben and Sam Moore, and Joe Dollar.
Honorary pallbearers were management and employees of Sanderson Construction.
Archie Wooten
FULTON – Archie Wooten, 79, died Sunday, April 26, 2009, at the North Mississippi Medical Center. He was born Jan. 8, 1930, to Brad and Cora Lee Bullocks Wooten. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army with 12 years of service, mostly in Germany. He was a retired employee of Penn Tire. An avid gardener, he enjoyed fishing and hunting.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 28, at McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Fulton with Bro. Donnie Wooten officiating. Burial was in Castleberry Cemetery.
Survivors include one brother, Hollis Wooten of Dennis; 20 nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Christine Wooten, on April 26, 2004; four brothers, Nim Wooten, Elvis Wooten, Ellis Wooten and Odel Wooten; four sisters, Lucille Lynch, Shelly Wooten, Cleo Allen and Betty Fay Wooten; and his parents.
Pallbearers were Scotty Wooten, Andy Wooten, Nathan Wooten, Larry Dale Wooten, Chris Wooten and Joey Hargett.
Honorary pallbearers were Tim Horton and Jimmy Lee Wooten.
Edgar Flournoy
ABERDEEN – Edgar Lee Flournoy, 67, died Sunday, April 26, 2009, at the Care Center of Aberdeen. He was born March 29, 1942, to James A. and Myrlene McMickin Flournoy in Tremont. He worked in logging and sawmilling. His faith was Church of God. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and going to auctions.
Services were Tuesday, April 27, at Senter Funeral Home Chapel in Fulton with Bro. Tim Winters officiating. Burial was in Pine Grove Church of God Cemetery.
Survivors include one daughter, Melissa Green of Fairview; one son, David Flournoy of Fairview; three grandchildren, Kayla Roberts, Kelsy Roberts and Drew Roberts; his father, James A. Flournoy of Pontotoc; eight sisters, Joan Knect of Belmont, Alice Emerson (Robert) and Louise Hamm (Roy), both of Red Bay, Ala., Bonnie Watson (Homer) of Vina, Ala., Tressa Guntharp (Frankie) and Kay West (David), both of Fulton, Katherine Wood (Larry Joe) of Golden and Shirley Pounders (Douglas) of Tremont; three brothers, Frankie (Tonya) and Tim Flournoy, both of Pontotoc, and Michael Flournoy (Amy) of Algoma; special friend and caregiver, Edith McKissach of Mantachie.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Myrlene Flournoy; two sisters, Jean Collier and Joyce Harrison; one brother, James Edward Flournoy; and his grandparents, Judd and Rosie McMickin.
James Owens
GOLDEN – James Wesley Owens, 60, died Friday, May 1, 2009, at the Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo. He was born July 12, 1948, to Frank and Louvirdie Hendrix Owens. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing music. He was also a veteran of the United States Army.
Services were at 2 p.m. Monday, May 4, at the Deaton Funeral Home Chapel in Belmont with Bro. Roy Allen Joshlin officiating. Burial was in the Old Bethel Cemetery. Deaton Funeral Home of Belmont was in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include his five children, John Owens (Dalane) of Booneville, Chris Owens of Toone, Tenn., Travis Owens and Avis Owens (Danielle), both of Lockport, Ill., and Genese Ford of Cartersville, Ga.; 14 grandchildren; three brothers, Tim Roberts (Lisa) of Fairview, David Roberts (Lillian) of Golden and Rocky Roberts (Rita) of Meridian; three sisters, Unice Fair (Curtis) of Booneville, Ponda Brown (Bobby) of Fairview and Kathy Jane Harris (David) of Whitfield; and one stepsister, Jetty Roberts of Booneville.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Travis and Jerry Owens; one stepbrother, Frankie Roberts; and his first wife, Margaret Faye Howard.
Roger Hall
NETTLETON – Roger Dale “Bulldog” Hall, 54, died Saturday, May 2, 2009, at the Darlington Oaks - Community Hospice in Verona. He was born Oct. 6, 1954, in Lee County to Marvin and Sula Hall. He was a lifelong resident of Nettleton and a former employee of Peoploungers Furniture in Nettleton for 28 years. He enjoyed fishing, cooking, watching Ole Miss sports on television and was a member of Richmond Pentecostal Church.
Services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, May 4, at Jones Chapel Baptist Church with Bro. Bill Payne and Bro. Sammy Raper officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Tisdale-Lann Memorial Funeral Home of Nettleton was in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include his wife, Sherry Louise Oliver Hall of Nettleton; one daughter, Contina Louise Newcomb (Terry) of Mantachie; two sons, Jimmy Hall (Christy) of Nettleton and Kenny Hall of Tupelo; two sisters, Sarah Fowler of Nettleton and Annie Allred of Tupelo; three brothers, John C. Hall (Peggy), Thomas Hall (Geneva) and Donald Joe Hall (Ellen), all of Nettleton; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Earl Hall, Robert Hall and James Hall; and one sister, Florine Guess.
Pallbearers were Dan Raper, Johnny Holland, Donnie Green, Paul Wright, Donnie Freshour and Ellis Carter.
Honorary pallbearers were Terry Newcomb, Jonathan Hall and Will Evans.

Paul Lee
MANTACHIE – Paul Wayne Lee, 51, died Tuesday, April 28, 2009, after a sudden illness. He was born June 20, 1957, to Lois and Lucoy Robinson. He was employed at MTD as a fabrication engineer. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family, grandchildren, who were the sunshine of his life, and friends.
No public service was held. Waters Funeral Home of Baldwyn was in charge.
Survivors include one daughter, Maria Wilson (Billy) of Evergreen; three sons, Michael P. Lee (Bridget), P.J. Ryan and J.J. Austin, all of Mantachie; one brother, Robert E. Lee (Pat) of Pratt; grandchildren, Christopher Smith, Terry Smith and Gracie Ryan; in-laws, Donna Dill, Jamie Dill, Wanda Waters (Tim), Tammy Dill (Tim) and David Howell (Debbie), all of Mantachie; and a number of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra; his parents; and a sister, Sarah Skelton.
Carl Hood
MARIETTA – Carl Hood, 78, died Tuesday, April 28, 2009, at his home in the Ozark community. He was born Oct. 20, 1930, to Lawrence and Ruthie Mills Hood. He was a retired employee of Super Sagless Manufacturing and a retired farmer.
He was a member of the Ozark Church of Christ. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching ball games and spending time with his family and friends.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, May 1, at Waters Funeral Home in Baldwyn with Bro. Carl Dunlap and Bro. Buddy Rushing officiating. Burial was in Kirkville Cemetery.
Survivors include four nieces, Jan Loague (Roger), Patty Sheffield (Brad), Carla Pettigo (Jimmy) and Cerrie Franks (Jimmy Dale); seven great-nieces, Jessica Upton, Brandi Tyra (Andy), Renea Sheffield, Sarah Sheffield, Hailey Pettigo, Jaisey Pettigo and Kayla Loague; three great-nephews, Clay Franks, Eli Franks and Wesley Loague; one great-great-nephew, Anthony Upton; and a sister-in-law, Dorothy Hood.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Kelton Hood and Truman Hood; and a sister-in-law, Faye Hood.
Pallbearers were Brad Sheffield, Jimmy Pettigo, Jimmy Dale Franks, Roger Loague, Rickey Cooper, Mitchell Hood, Randy Hood and Keith Mills.

ALAMO, Tenn. - Charles William Andrews Jr., 63, died Tuesday, April 28, 2009.
Ronk Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. Visitation was held Friday, May 1, at the funeral home.
Survivors include his wife, Pamela Andrews of Alamo, Tenn.; one son, David Nicholson of Alamo, Tenn.; two daughters, Jenny (Scott) McMackin of Fulton and Belinda (Mark) Stanfill of Alamo, Tenn.; two sisters, Nancy (Charles) Hardin of Bells, Tenn., and Sylvia Harrison of Alamo, Tenn.; four grandchildren, Matthew McMackin, Megan McMackin, Madison Williams and Maekayla Stanfill; and many nieces and nephews.
