GOLDEN - Steven Glenn Vick, 41, died Sunday, Jan. 4, 2009, at his home. He was born April 5, 1967, in Alabama. He was a disabled veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in the 82nd Airborne. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Red Bay, Ala.
Services were held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 7, at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel in Red Bay with Bro. Larry Hill officiating. Burial was in Red Bay City Cemetery.
Survivors include his parents, M.L. and Peggy Vick of Red Bay; his mother, Barbara Hastings of Corinth; one son, Gavin Glenn Vick of Belmont; two brothers, Bill Vick (Mary) of Athens, Tenn., and Michael Vick (Melanie) of Florence, Ala.; one sister, Angie Stone (Michael) of Red Bay; his grandparents, Jessie Cleveland of Red Bay and Pauline Swindle of Kentwood, Ala.; one nephew, Casey Stone; three nieces, Cassidy Stone, Madolin Vick and Mollie Vick.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Brian Vick, and his grandfather, Harold Cleveland.
Pallbearers were Michael Stone, Casey Stone, Michael Vick, Bill Vick, Dustin Cleveland and Bruce Miller.
Eva Gray
MOOREVILLE - Eva Pauline Gray, 87, died Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2009, at the North Mississippi Medical Center. She was born Jan. 25, 1921, in Itawamba County to Grover Cleveland and Annie Harrison Franks. She was retired from the Zion Nursing Home in Zion, Ill., and she worked at Daniel Nursing Home in Fulton upon her return here in 1984. She was a member of Ballardsville Baptist Church. She was a loving mother, totally devoted to her family. She will be missed by her family and her pet, Russell, whom she loved dearly.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 8, at McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Fulton with Bro. Jackie Gray, Bro. Roger Franks and Bro. Thelbert Hill officiating. Burial was in Hopewell Cemetery.
Survivors include one son, Eddie Gray of Mooreville; two daughters, Peggy Smith Halmontaller of Mooreville and Lynda Morgan (Jerry) of Cumming, Ga.; seven grandchildren, Sonia Franks (Andy) of Mooreville, Matt Smith (Cheryl) of Aberdeen, Teresa Stone (Kris) of Cumming, Ga., Todd Morgan (Stephanie) of Dawsonville, Ga., Tate Morgan of Cumming, Ga., Chad Gray of Tupelo and John Tyler Gray of Mooreville; eight great-grandchildren, Chantz Smith, Jake Smith, Zachary Stone, Sarah Stone, Abby Stepp, Jackson Morgan, Andy Franks II and Alexis Franks.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dalton E. "Dyke" Gray, in 1998; one brother, Cecil G. Franks; two sisters, Ruby Priddy and Verna Justice; and her parents.
Pallbearers were Matt Smith, Todd Morgan, Tate Morgan, Chad Gray, John Tyler Gray and C.G. Franks.

Edgar Q. Cobb
NEW ALBANY - Edgar Q. Cobb, 73, died Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2009, at The Med in Memphis. He was born May 4, 1935, in New Albany to Tom and Tishie Pannell Cobb. He was retired and a member of Beulah Baptist Church in Myrtle.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 10, at United Funeral Service Chapel with Rev. Charlie Ransier officiating. Burial was in Beulah Cemetery in Myrtle.
Survivors include one daughter, Anita White of Fulton; one son, Harold Cobb of New Albany; four sisters, Mary Burkes of New Albany, Maxey Frazier and Nora Lee Frazier of Myrtle, and Rachel Robbins of Ripley; four brothers, William Cobb, Isaac Cobb, Burton Cobb and Walter Cobb, all of New Albany; two grandchildren, Marc and Emily Cobb of New Albany.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Roger Lynn Cobb; a brother, Hollis Cobb; and a sister, Inez Mardis.
Elsie Wilson
BOONEVILLE - Elsie Wilson, 87, formerly of Fulton, died Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2009, at her home. She was born July 20, 1921, in Itawamba County to Charlie and Alice Lesley. She was a Methodist. She worked at Blue Bell Manufacturing for 38 years.
Services were held at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 9, at Senter Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. James Earl Wilson officiating. Burial was in the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery.
Survivors include three sons, Charles Robertson (Evelyn) of Crossville, Tenn., and Jimmy Wilson (Cynthia) and Billy Wilson (Mickey), both of Booneville; nine grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Murden Wilson; a son, Danny Wilson; and a daughter, Sarah Robertson.
Annie McCarley
HAMILTON, Ala. - Annie B. Gann McCarley, 78, died Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2009, at her home. She was a native of Sugar Bend, Ala., and a longtime resident of Millburn and Zion, Ill. She was active in her churches, her husband's work and her children's schools. She was a wonderful daughter, wife, mother, sister, tutor and friend.
Services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 10, at Hamilton Funeral Home in Hamilton, Ala. Burial was in the Bethlehem Cemetery.
Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Lyndel T. McCarley Sr.; two sons, Tim (Jody) of Senatobia and Robin (Tracy) of Prairieville, La.; one sister, Doris Guntharp (J.C.) of the Tilden community; one brother, George Gann (Doris) of Fulton; grandchildren and spouses, Chris and Leah Nieman, Rob and Sarah Nieman, Thomas McCarley, Jason McCarley, Sidney McCarley, Nathan McCarley, Rachel McCarley and Megan Ann McCarley; great-grandchildren, Jade McCarley, Steven Holland, Jaxon Harbin, Luke Nieman and Natalie Nieman; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Smith and Lois Pearce Gann.; and a son, Lyndel T. “Butch” McCarley Jr. and wife, Linda Sterbenz McCarley.
Littie D. Hall
EVERGREEN - Littie D. Shackelford Hall, 95, died Saturday, Jan. 10, 2009, at her daughter's home after an extended illness. She was born August 17, 1913, in the Carolina Community of Itawamba County to the late Henry and Quilla Suggs Shackelford. She lived in the Evergreen Community for 45 years and she was married to Taylor Hall in 1931, who later died in 2005. She was a member of the Carolina Baptist Church and she was a homemaker. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, and her family.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 12, at the E.E. Pickle Funeral Home in Amory with Rev. Ricky Pierce and Rev. Sammy Washburn officiating. Burial was in the New Chapel Cemetery. E.E. Pickle Funeral Home of Amory was in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include one daughter, Margie Faye Hall Hussey (Herman) of Tupelo; 9 grandchildren, Donna Williams (Jim), Rhonda Pierce (E.C.), Ronnie Hall (Pam), Rebecca Cagle, Amy Kelly (Tommy), Anita Pate (Mike), Herman Hussey Jr. (Debbie), Julie Hussey and Chris Hussey (Natasha); five sisters-in-law, Inez Pearson, Nettie Shackelford, Eunice Witt, Nadine Hall and Earlene McCaskell; two brothers-in-law, Bill Hall (Jeanne) and Robert McNeece; and a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 73 years; two daughters, Maddie Sue Hall and Annie Lou Tartt; son-in-law, Eugene Tartt; one son, Robert Henry Hall; one grandson, Ricky Hall; 3 brothers, Steve, Alton and Ferris Shackelford; and 4 sisters, Virgie Elliot, Osa Riley, Lola Pennington and Veleria Hallmark.
Pallbearers were Jim Williams, E.C. Pierce, Ronnie Hall, Herman Hussey Jr., Chris Hussey, Mike Pate and Tommy Kelly.

George D. Gann
FULTON - George D. Gann, 75, died Thursday, Jan. 8, 2009, at North Mississippi Medical Center. He was born April 5, 1933, in Guin, Ala., to Smith David and Lois Pearce Gann. He was a charter member of Sovereign Grace Baptist Church and served as treasurer . He retired from Itawamba Mfg. Co., after 37 years. He was a charter member of the 155th National Guard Unit with 23 years of service. He was a graduate of the Itawamba Agricultural High School Class of 1953. He was an avid reader and domino player and enjoyed sports. He owned and operated George Gann Auction Company for 37 years.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 11, at Senter Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jimmie David and Dr. Alan Simpson officiating. Burial was in Itawamba Memorial Garden.
Survivors include his wife of 48 1/2 years, Doris Gray Gann of Fulton; a daughter, Dixie (Chris) Sugg of Amory; two grandsons, Christopher and Andrew Sugg of Amory; a sister, Doris (J.C.) Guntharp of Fulton; and a special friend, Joe Dulaney of Fulton.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Annie B. McCarley.
Pallbearers were Don Atkins, Donnie Bell, Carl Comer, Jim Holland, Eric Holland, Doug Horn and Jerry Rowe.
