After Ole Miss was upset Saturday by Jacksonville State, the message boards, facebook and twitter were filled with arguments of which loss was more embarrassing, State's 2004 loss to Maine or Ole Miss's loss on Saturday.

The best breakdown of the argument came from Adam Gore on his website goresports.net. The next two paragraphs are excerpts from his article.

"In 2004, MSU dropped a 9-7 shocker to the Maine Black Bears in Starkville marking the Dogs’ first-ever loss to an I-AA school. Ironically the game against Maine, who was ranked 15th in I-AA at the time, was the first game against a I-AA school since the Bulldogs beat Jacksonville State in 2002. The Bulldogs did rebound four weeks later to upset Florida 38-31 at home on their way to a 3-8 season.

Flash-forward six years and Rebel fans that were pointing and laughing at their counterparts to the south are now getting a dose of their own medicine after a 49-48 double overtime loss to Jacksonville State."

Gore breaks down the situation a lot more on his article which I recommend everybody reads in full on his site (goresports.net).

Either way, both losses are no doubt embarrassing for both programs, but vote below to give your opinion.

Which loss is more embarrassing?
